Household Hazardous Waste collection event is May 13

Garland County residents can bring items to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday to the Garland County Fairgrounds at 4831 Malvern Avenue, Highway 270 East, for safe, free disposal of unused or leftover household products containing toxic, flammable, corrosive or reactive chemicals. A paint exchange area will also be available for paint that is still usable and stored in the original container with a legible label. Passenger tires (no rims) and electronic waste will be accepted at the Garland County collection site only.

 

Clark County residents may bring their materials to the Clark County Fairgrounds in Arkadelphia from 8 a.m. until noon. Hot Spring County residents may take their materials to either collection location.

 

The event, sponsored by the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District, is for household quantities only. Hazardous waste from companies and businesses cannot be accepted. For information, call 321-6911 or 870-246-9864.
