Wanted Person Arrested

On October 9, 2017 at approximately 12:40 p.m., the Hot Springs Police Department was notified of a wanted person, namely Daniel Steven Brown, who was observed at the McDonald’s located at 200 East Grand Avenue.  Daniel Brown, age 34, from Benton, Arkansas, was wanted for felony counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle, battery second degree, theft of property and fleeing.

As officers arrived at McDonald’s, Daniel Brown got into a vehicle.  Officers attempted to stop Brown, but he fled in the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.  Officers pursued Brown onto Grand Avenue and eventually Albert Pike Road.  Brown left the city limits of Hot Springs and Arkansas State Police took over the pursuit.

Daniel Brown turned onto Mountain Pine Road (Hwy. 227) and struck a vehicle.  Brown then entered the parking lot of the EZ-Mart.  A Garland County Deputy, who was also involved in the pursuit rammed and disabled Brown’s vehicle.

Daniel Brown was taken into custody without further incident.  Daniel Brown will face additional charges of felony fleeing and multiple traffic related offenses and will be booked in at the Garland County Detention Center.
